You know the feeling when you’re talking to someone and reminiscing about old times? For example, when you went to that trip together, raided that castle and got over 9000 experience in one go? Or when you bought your very first figurine? This video makes me feel the same way.
Aaah, I remember that old meme! It was so popular before and then someone made it even better by making the character sing and … and… and…
I think I might spend too much time on nicovideo. Maybe.
Valentines day in Japan started for real in 1953 for promoting the giving of heart-shaped chocolates. It has since then evolved into a big commercial event for couples, people in love and candy-makers where chocolate is bought, melted, formed, given and taken. nlike western countries, gifts such as greeting cards, flowers, etc are uncommon, and most of the activity about the gifts is about giving the right amount of chocolate to each person. There is chocolate you give to your friends, your family and your loved ones.
I imagine people without friends and family being quite depressed this day, as other japanese holidays (cough xmas cough) but don’t feel bad, there is a place for you too! Many maid cafés have specials this day so you and your friends can feel loved☆
Some people apparently thinks that the improvements in the latest version of nicovideo ⑨ weren’t for the best. Especially since the company more and more wants to make money on their users while making some stupid choices. For example, how the rankings looks now compared to… forever.
I myself must say that the removal of maximum bitrate for uploaded videos (premium) is a plus. Here’s hoping that nicovideo will move to more high res resolutions and 16:9 instead of 4:3. Although, I miss the early RC1 design that looked hand drawn. That was charming and had even won an award for best web design.
Funny thing to note is that the creator of the short version got called up by nicovideo staff to appear in a live show with them. This full version includes… a bit more people.
Someone went and took sound samples from ANIKI and GACHIMUCHI videos, pitch-shifted them and made a vocaloid-like song using that. And a wonderful video. It’s just… beautiful!
