The Dance Motion Climax event was held during the holidays to celebrate everything Miku Miku Dance and there has been much rejoicing over the videos.
It also seems like MMD is getting better for every version. What before was rigid is now fluid, bouncy and full of expression. People are also mixing in other tools, such as Blender. The results are astonishing.
That is a question I often ask users on nicovideo. The more time I spend there, the more videos I watch, the more I realize how crazy this little world really is. There are cosplayers that dance in the wild, there are professionalmusicians that crossplay and there are people who draw stuff like this:
Someone played the PSP Miku game and got really facinated with the characters. So facinated that he spent hours, days and weeks making a robot copy of Miku. A robot copy that can move and “sing”. This is what happens when you give a perverted person, a hentai, too much power. Too much creativity. Too much brains.
Miku miku dance have gone and become more and more advanced with every version while at the same time making it easier for people to animate scenes in it. Here is one example of what you can do with some work. I like the effect when the sabers touch and the hair movement looks really natural now compared to say, a year ago.
