Nicovideo had their first big convention yesterday which you could follow live on the site. There were some interesting news and a lot of answers to questions, such as the future of MADs, fan-created movies that remixes anime.

Nico Nico Douga has come to an agreement with The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA), Japan Video Software Association (JVA), and Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan (MPPA) to remove vids that are in violation of copyright belonging to members of these organizations.

A great thing about nicovideo is that anyone can edit the tags of any video. You can of course lock tags that you have put on your uploaded videos, but most videos only have one locked tag which is the category. These categories range form “Anime” to “I sang” or “I danced”.
