xp-tan: a closer look

Windows XP is still hot even though Vista is out in the wild, and XP-tan is still one of the most written about os-tan among the doujin writers! This article is a tribute to XP-tan, looking into what kind of girl she really is. Lets start with her appearance☆
XP-tan is, as seen in the image above, dressed in blue and white. She is almost always dressed in a short skirt and thighhighs. Her hair is long and black and she has a XP hairpin in it. Her body, which is round and very feminin, might refer to the rounded theme of Windows XP. Her childish behaviour is most certainly also so.
Although childish, XP-tan is often used in adult comics. She is the big-boob character among the OS-girls and the authors often use that quality. Her breast-size denote that Windows XP is a memory hog, always wanting more. XP-tan is therefor often seen eating (a lot) of food, sometimes even stealing it from others. There have been many puns made using her breast size among doujin manga writers and I expect that she will always be the big breasted glutton among the fans, even though newer operative systems such as Vista eat more memory.
XP-tans childishness and her disregard of her own appearance makes her look very selfish at times, especially when there is food involved. She has neither a strong will nor is she a hard working os-girl. Being the “middle born” sister, she’s often slacking off.
Her popularity among the fans most certainly stems from her appearance, as she is most certainly not as moe as the other os-girls. XP-tans body will make sure that she remains popular even though new girls, such as Vista, is added to the family!
