Lucky☆Star virus

There is a now a virus that removes all your media files such as .avi, .mp3, .iso and replaces them with a picture for Konata from the Lucky☆Star anime!

People that are using Winny and Share should be especially concerned since it is mainly spread via those P2P filesharing networks. The virus is advertised as a Lucky Star game, but it can surely hide in different disguises.

The guy that made the virus, Masato Nakatsuji, 24, of Izumisano, Osaka Prefecture, was recently arrested for violating the copyright of the picture that replaced the media files. There are no laws against creating viruses in Japan so the arrest is basically a way to get to him and maybe lobby through some law, which is regrettable. Much has been covered about this, but there hasn’t been any real information in english of what the virus does, until now.
